Markets for Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs): The Role of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in Enhancing Brazil’s Sociobiodiversity

Under detailed settings, tourism can add to the material and immaterial values of use biodiversity, such as non-timber forest products (NTFPs) collected by traditional communities, towards sustainability in rural landscapes. A critical aspect is effectively assess where implement modalities that enhance NTFP extractivism reduce emphasis on quantities extracted (yields). Here, we map community-based initiatives Brazil explore local markets, a spatially explicit modeling approach landscape-scale governance mechanisms upscale sociobiodiversity be successfully cherished through community-led visitation management model.
